UNICEF is currently undertaking a large scale migration and redevelopment of its knowledge management solutions into Microsoft technologies. We currently require experienced Sharepoint 2010 / C# developers to build customised applications and sites within the Sharepoint environment.

This position will be based at UNICEF’s New York Headquarters. You will report to a section manager and work within a team dedicated to this new initiative within UNICEF. The team you will be working in will include graphics designers, .NET developers, Sharepoint administrators and SQL server specialists. The skills and experience required for this assignment are:
• 5 + years or more software developer experience in a corporate or large non-profit setting.
• Experience in a rapid applications development environment.
• 2 + years MS Visual Studio, C#,
• 2 + years .Net framework,
• Good understanding of Web services (WCF/SOAP),
• Good understanding of the Sharepoint API
• 2 + years MS Forms
• 2 + years SQL Server,
• 2 + years Sharepoint (including 2010 and covering webparts and workflows).
• Proficiency in using SharePoint Designer, Visual Studio, and integration to the Microsoft Office Suite.
• 5 + years with Web technologies and concepts (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, XML, XSLT), hands on ASP.NET, Security (Active Directory, ISA), Networking (DNS, HTTP, SSL), Email (SMTP), Database (T-SQL, PL/SQL, normalization), and Storage (SAN) concepts
• Ability to be self-starter and to work with minimum supervision
• Good communicator
• Experience of a multi-cultural and gender sensitive work environment
• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to work with a team as well as independently in an overall multi-cultural environment.

Location: This position will be based at UNICEF’s New York Headquarters. You will report to a section manager and work within a team dedicated to this new initiative within UNICEF. The team you will be working in will include graphics designers, .NET developers, Sharepoint administrators and SQL server specialists. The selected candidate is expected to work 7 hours/day

Duration of the Consultancy: The estimated duration of the project is six months, starting in January and continuing through June 2011 subject to satisfactory probationary period.

Expected Start Date: 3 January 2011

Proposed Remuneration: In your response please state your hourly rate.
