Planet Aid seeks Development Officer – Corporate Relations & Foundations
Planet Aid seeks an entrepreneurial, result-oriented team player, with experience and drive to obtain funding from corporations and foundations to build the organization’s portfolio.

The Development Officer will work under the direction of the organization’s Senior Manager for Strategic Partnerships and Program Development and is part of a team of development professionals, including US Government Specialists, writers and designers.

Responsibilities include:
• Cultivate and solicit corporate and foundation prospects
• Research and identify matches between donors’ interests and Planet Aid’s development strategy
• Contribute to the development of short- and long-term strategies to maximize Planet Aid’s access to private source funding
• Meet progressive annual funding goals
• Reach out to prospective partners through meetings, phone calls and mail
• Develop unsolicited and solicited partnership proposals
• Create presentations and printed material for partnership opportunities
• Stay abreast of funding opportunities and new trends in the philanthropic community
• Develop and maintain recording and tracking system for corporate and foundation opportunities
• Arrange and conduct meetings with executives and other decision-makers
• Participate in conferences and events to highlight Planet Aid and meet potential donors
• Plan and author concept papers and proposals from conception to final product.

This is a full-time staff position.

Salary will be determined based on qualifications.

Job location: Elkridge, MD

Some travel within the US will be required.

Desired Skills & Experience
Qualifications Required:
- 3-6 years experience and a track record in successfully obtaining funds from corporations and foundations in the US - for global development projects
- Business development experience from the corporate sector is a plus, but not a precondition
- Excellent writing and verbal communication skills
- Excellent planning, organization and time management skills
- Interest and compassion for working to benefit the world’s poor
- Energetic, creative and results-oriented personality
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree required
