Faith Mobilization Manager

The Faith Mobilization Manager is responsible for leading ONE’s strategic outreach and advocacy partnerships in the faith community around ONE’s core agenda and mission to end extreme poverty. Working under the leadership of the Senior Director of US Campaigns, the Mobilization Manager’s scope of work includes strategic grass-tops mobilization at both the national and local level, outreach to major denominations and faith based organizations, engaging faith voices, and providing organizational guidance, materials, and counsel on Faith on ONE’s core priorities. This position is based in our Washington DC office.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead ONE’s national grass-tops faith efforts, developing a strategic and targeted outreach plan, to build, leverage and employ a national network of faith communities in the work and mission of ONE.
  • Equip networks of congregations and other faith groups on advocacy campaigns as well as to increase and deepen ONE’s membership through advocacy tools and programs
  • Direct ONE’s network of faith leaders and influencers, working with Field Team towards integrative efforts on ONE’s ongoing campaigns.
  • Maintain and deepen relationships with national faith groups and coalitions.
  • Develop and manage programs and creative for national and local faith engagement, such as ONE Sabbath.
  • Represent ONE at appropriate Faith based conferences and events.
  • Assist in the identification of national level surrogates and validators
  • Coordinate closely with communications, strategic partnerships, new media, and marketing to ensure success of programs.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 5 years of related experience.
  • Demonstrated experience organizing in the faith community.
  • Experience in carrying out issue or political campaigns at state/national level.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit; does not mind unstructured and sometimes unpredictable environments.
  • Grasp of major religious traditions and political trends of the US faith community and ability to integrate and exercise judgments into work, campaigns.
  • Superior relational skills in listening, negotiation and collaboration.
  • Ability to effectively develop and implement project budgets.
  • Public speaking and writing skills.
