Operations Manager – Jakarta, Indonesia

AusAID funded Performance Oversight and Monitoring (POM) project is hiring an Operations Manager for a long term assignment, based in Jakarta, Indonesia, starting mid June 2012.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Provide leadership in presenting strategic advice, guidance and direction for the Program.
  • Managing a team of technical specialists and program operations staff to ensure contracted outputs are delivered in accordance with the Scope of Services.
  • Put in place and oversee an appropriate management and governance structure and ensure appropriate financial and risk management strategies are applied, including a risk assessment and mitigation strategy.
  • Seek opportunities for continuous improvement in effective implementation, program performance and engagement with AusAID.
  • Assure compliance with AusAID and GoI policy, such as gender, disability and anti-corruption.
  • Ensure accountability and quality for all contracted outputs to AusAID and GoI.
  • Undertake high level liaison with AusAID, GoI, the SSQ, EP Public Affairs programs and other stakeholders to ensure positive and effective working relationships.

To succeed in this role, you will have demonstrated:

  • International experience in leadership and management of complex programs/projects or management of large organisations/corporations, and of taking a lead role in providing advice to shape strategy and direction;
  • Experience in managing and leading diverse teams with a focus on relationship building and evidence of a history of leading happy and productive teams;
  • Experience in broad monitoring and evaluation of large donor programs working through partner government systems, including assessment of compliance with related to donor policy guidance on cross-cutting and safeguarding issues
  • Experience in high-level dialogue on audit, evaluation and impact assessment findings and recommendations with AusAID, Indonesian government ministries and other development partners; and
  • Experience of engaging productively with senior government personnel
