Policy and Campaigns Officer Independent Age

Independent Age is a unique and growing charity providing national information, advice and support for thousands of older people, their families and carers.
You’ll play a crucial role in ensuring our campaigns and policy positions are communicated effectively to government, the media and other key stakeholders.
Main responsibilities:
  • Organise Independent Age's campaigning activities and research campaign issues.
  • Establish and maintain an effective network of contacts with parliamentarians, civil servants and key stakeholders as a way of intelligence gathering and relationship building.
  • Respond to media enquiries, particularly at times of high demand.
  • Manage Independent Age's involvement in party conferences and other key events.
  • Contribute to development of the charity's policy positions based on the evidence provided by its research.
  • Prepare internal briefing notes and responses to public consultations.
  • Represent the charity at external meetings with external stakeholders.
