Pressure Oxidation Operations Superintendent Dominican Republic

Reports To: Process Plant Manager
Location: Pueblo Viejo Site
Position Overview:
The incumbent is responsible for all aspects of the operation of the pressure oxidation area. The incumbent will ensure that all process based initiatives are implemented, as required through to and including commissioning and future operations.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
· Supervise an operations team of supervisors and operators as required for the operations of the pressure oxidation area, including the autoclave, oxygen plant, hot cure, CCD, neutralization, lime boil, copper recovery, cooling towers, effluent treatment plant and descaling crew.
· Set goals and objectives and manage employee performance and succession plans.
· Participate in the development, implementation and follow up of the safety and training programs and initiatives, including (but not limited to) the Standard Operating Procedures, (SOP’s), Workplace Inspections, Task Observations and Training Programs.
· Coordinate the ore blending activities in conjunction with the other areas and the mine department. Optimize the sulphur throughput and the oxygen utilization of the autoclaves.
· Optimize the copper recovery and the operation of the neutralization circuits to limit the scaling.
· Coordinate the maintenance of the pressure oxidation area. Participate as required in maintenance improvement initiatives.
· Coordinate the power planning with the Site Services Department.
· Establish budgets for the POX area.

Education:
Bachelor degree in Mining, Metallurgy or Chemical Engineering or equivalent experience in similar roles.
Experience:
10+ years supervisory experience in a process environment. Must have practical experience in pressure oxidation including autoclaves, neutralisation and oxygen plant processes. processes.
Skills & Abilities:
Experience should demonstrate the ability to lead, train and develop others to maintain good working relationships, excellent work ethics and that best and safe practices are followed. Above average communication skills, able to speak, read, and write in English. Bilingual English/Spanish highly preferred.
