CDP Europe is seeking a highly motivated, self-starter and well-networked individual to implement the EU government engagement strategy of the world’s leading climate change charity.

Main responsibilities

  • Growing the CDP’s influence and effectiveness in Southern Europe region
  • Supporting the establishment of the Southern Europe operation by:
  • Providing client services and follow-up to current CDP partners, local agents, and sponsors.
  • Participating in the development of new partnerships with government agencies, accounting bodies, data providers, exchanges, leading investors, corporations, foundations and academic institutes
  • Working closely with CDP signatories to improve the quality of data reported, in collaboration with headquarters o Seeking opportunities to drive carbon accounting and management high up the corporate agenda and increase the level of carbon disclosure in the region through dialogue with CDP partners, events, outreach
  • Supporting the organisation of events and workshops including the engagement of high level speakers
  • Providing research and analysis for projects in collaboration with Southern European government Ministries to improve disclosure by corporations and action on disclosure by investors
  • Proactive engagement with peer NGO’s and other relevant stakeholders

Requirements

  • A clear understanding of the aims, objectives and processes of CDP
  • A desire to drive forward the mission of the CDP
  • At least 3 years experience in either the investor, corporate, government or non-profit sectors
  • Sound understanding of global policy action on climate change and how Southern Europe (SE) region fits in with the current efforts towards a global agreement
  • Excellent awareness of as well as knowledge from a business and investor perspective and their implications
  • Good public speaking skills and ability to interact with high level representatives from the private and public sectors
  • A self-starter with ability to take initiative, multi-task, prioritise and work under pressure
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Detail-oriented with good research, writing and drafting skills
  • Strong team player, client service orientation and interpersonal skills in a multicultural setting
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook) and experience with CRM systems
  • Fluency in Italian and English is required. Spanish and/or Greek would be a plus.

The successful candidate will report to the Director Southern Europe and work closely with the European team. It is expected that there will be some travel in the region and the candidate must be able to work from home.
