Senior Media Officer - Feature Video and Photography

Under the general supervision of the Section Chief of the Multimedia Services Section (MSS) of the Technology and General Services Department (TGS), the Senior Media Officer, Feature Video and Photography Services, provides strategic direction and operational management of the Fund's feature video and still photography operations, ensuring functional and technologically suitable solutions and formulation of audience appropriate messages.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Actively assists the Section Chief with strategic planning and provides substantive input to section, division, and departmental planning and goal setting. Implements strategic initiatives that result in providing modern and efficient feature video and photography facilities, and resources and products that support the needs of a global financial organization.
Plans and initiates policies, determines priorities, establishes objectives, leads and manages the work of the Feature Video and Photography Services Team.
Solicits, analyzes and defines departmental and Fundwide requirements, identifies best practices, formulates recommendations, and implements and measures the impact of current and proposed policies, procedures, services, and operations. Specifically ensures that the Fund's needs are being effectively met in the creation, implementation, and delivery of feature and documentary videos, and still photographic images for distribution to the World Wide Web, news media outlets and educational institutions.
Communicates and develops strategies with senior management, outside organizations, and the news media regarding the most appropriate forms of communication, technologies and channels for forming and delivering Fund messages. Actively engages outside organizations and public and private sector entities in a cooperative dialogue to ensure a productive exchange and sharing of best practices in feature video and still photography operations and technologies.
Develops, formulates, and manages capital and administrative budgets. Develops Statements of Work and assists with the formulation and awarding of RFPs and the management of contracts for facilities, technology, and vendor augmentation staffing.
Manages the performance of Media Officers in the effective and efficient execution of tasks related to feature video and photography activities. Creates work plans, sets appropriate and achievable developmental and work objectives, ensuring timely delivery of operational direction and performance feedback. Acts as the first-line supervisor for team staff, including the management of staff's APRs, coaching, performance issues, and approval of training and leave plans, etc.
Ensures that the Fund maintains technologically up-to-date and operationally efficient and effective facilities to support feature video and photography functions throughout the headquarters complex.
Selects vendors for specific jobs and oversees their performance against contractual terms and conditions. Ensures that in-house or external vendor companies or vendor personnel provide the deliverables according to contract and works closely with these vendors to ensure that schedule, quality, project, and budgetary requirements are met.

Qualifications

Education
Educational development, typically acquired by the completion of an advanced university degree in communications, broadcast journalism, or a related field, plus a minimum of four years of relevant professional experience; or a Bachelor's Degree, supplemented by a minimum of ten years of relevant professional work experience, is required.
