PSI seeks a Technical Advisor, Reproductive Health to assist the Chief of Party and support the Reproductive Health programs under the USAID-funded Regional Reproductive Health project in West Africa. The position will be based in Accra, Ghana and will report to the Chief of Party.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Work in close collaboration with the Chief of Party and the program technical staff to provide strategic inputs to the programs’ activities.
· Monitor program results and be responsible for ensuring that the program provides high quality technical services, meets its annual targets, and maximizes health impact.
· Participate in the development of appropriate high impact service delivery models and advocacy tools based on local country context and international best practices. Compile, review, and prepare technical and other reports required by USAID and PSI/W.
· Provide technical oversight and strategic direction for program implementation and development.
· Work with partners to optimize reproductive health programs and build the capacity of the community, the government, and the regional partners to sustain the health impact of the program.
· Develop and disseminate project case studies and/or other technical briefers/program highlight documents.
· Ensure technical compliance and adherence to quality assurance standards and policies for FP/RH activities
· Represent project at relevant stakeholder meetings and technical fora
· Serve as Chief of Party when s/he is away from the program.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Masters degree in public health, social sciences or related field or equivalent experience
· 7+ years experience with USAID funded international health project design, monitoring and evaluation methodologies.
· Minimum 5 years experience managing Reproductive Health/ Family Planning programs, preferably in the West and Central Africa region.
· Experience developing reproductive health program capacity of NGOs/CBOs.
· Experience in developing and implementing behavior change communication (BCC) for reproductive health projects.
· Experience managing, implementing, and evaluating large complex projects involving the collection, analysis and presentation of health and population data that covers the full range of technical, field and administrative skills required for successful implementation of short and long term family planning methods and interventions.
· Excellent quantitative and qualitative skills.
· Well organized, attentive to detail, with an ability to multitask.
· Works well independently and in teams.
· Fluency in English and French required
