The Government Affairs Office of Goodyear Dunlop Tires Europe is looking for a Manager Government Affairs.

The successful candidate will join a small and dynamic Government Affairs team based at the EMEA Headquarters of Goodyear in Diegem (close to Brussels). The mission of the team is to promote the company’s vision and interests towards the EU institutions and governments in Europe in order to contribute to efficient legislation.

Our ideal candidate:

  • has an excellent knowledge of the EU decision-making process;
  • a good insight in EU legislation in the field of transport and other related policies e.g. environment, energy;
  • minimum 3 years of relevant experience with the EU Institutions and advocacy; experience with another public institution is an advantage;
  • has an eye for the strategic implications of policy changes and good analytical skills;
  • has strong networking, relationship and communication skills;
  • holds a University Degree preferably in Law, European Studies, Public Administration or Political Sciences;
  • is fluent in English both orally and in writing. Knowledge of another EU language is an advantage (ideally French or German);
  • is self-accountable and a good team player.

The successful candidate will be responsible for devising and rolling out advocacy strategies on a number of EU policy issues related to Goodyear (environmental policy, competition policy, trade, transport policy, etc). The ideal candidate will have to analyze proposals for legislation, develop the company's position in close cooperation with our internal experts, set up an extensive network of contacts in EU institutions and actively promote our views externally.
