Manager/Senior Manager - German Health Policy PPTA

PPTA is an international trade association that represents the plasma protein therapeutics industry worldwide.

Biopharmaceutical trade association seeks a Brussels-based Health Policy Manager to assist in raising the profile of the plasma protein therapeutics industry among policy-makers primarily in Germany and German speaking Europe. Primary responsibilities include advocacy for the uniqueness of plasma protein therapies as the basis for improving government funding for rare diseases and conditions treated with these therapies.

The three major tasks of this person include, but are not limited to:

  1. Manage the activities of PPTA in Germany and support the PPTA Deutschland Board of Directors, by supporting the successful implementation PPTA Deutschland’s public affairs and political outreach program;
  2. Manage a project to increase awareness for one of the key indications treated with plasma protein therapies (www.find-id.net);
  3. Manage the European wide activities of the plasma collection sector.

The successful candidate will possess the following experience and skills:

  • Undergraduate degree, preferably in economics, biology or other life science, or higher public policy degree;
  • Public affairs and political advocacy experience, ideally in the German health care or pharmaceutical sector. First-hand experience in Brussels-based public affairs and European Commission outreach would be an advantage;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, team player;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Demonstrate excellent ability to communicate in English and German, verbally and in writing.
