Observational data analyst

Do you have a strong background in epidemiology and the use of real world data? Can you combine it with a sound grasp of programming and data analysis? Are you ready to think on your feet and apply your expertise to understanding the cause and extent of disease, and the safety and effectiveness of medicines? Then why not come and make the most of your talents at GSK.

A science-led global healthcare company, we make innovative medicines, vaccines and consumer healthcare products that are used by millions of people around the world, allowing them to do more, feel better and live longer.

This is your opportunity to move on to a more demanding role within our Worldwide Epidemiology Group. Collaborating with research teams across the business, you’ll help provide epidemiology and observational data analyses to support key R&D projects in areas including cardiovascular, metabolic, neurosciences and immuno-inflammation. This will involve everything from conducting and managing observational studies using our industry leading repository of large electronic healthcare databases to providing programming, analytic and consultation support. Finding new ways to get the most out of observational data will also be part of your role, as will evaluating and acquiring new population-based databases and leading technical projects.

As well as a degree in statistics or a quantitative or health-related discipline, we’re looking for experience of working with observational databases, an impressive working knowledge of SAS and outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills. Initiative and the ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines are also essential.
