Rio Tinto Marine (RTM) provides Rio Tinto with a comprehensive capability in all aspects of marine transportation and global freight markets.  An outstanding opportunity currently exists for an Analyst to join our Business Systems team, supporting systems and technology that provide competitive advantage to RTM.

 

Reporting to the Manager Business Systems, you will provide accurate and timely IT support and analysis for RTM business software, to ensure that our IT systems are performing in line with business objectives. In addition, you will maintain and seek to improve RTM systems, facilities and the infrastructure required to support the business and its technical operations.

 

As a member of a small Singapore based team, you will be a well organised team player, with the ability to work unsupervised.  Requirements for the role:

 

·         Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology / Computer Science.

·         SQL database programming and reporting skills

·         Strong process mapping and analytical skills

·         A creative thinker with initiative

·         Advanced planning and organisation skills

·         Excellent communication skills

·         Minimum 2.5 years’ experience in SQL database programming and reporting

·         Experience using or supporting the Veson IMOS system is highly desirable. 

 

To be successful in this role you will have a tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.  Experience within a shipping, mining or logistics environment will be well regarded, but is not essential.
