In order to contribute to its further development, ECORYS Brussels is expanding its team and wishes to recruit an Evaluation Expert/Senior consultant.

RESPONSIBILITIES/JOB SPECIFICATION

As Evaluation Expert/Senior Consultant you will lead the preparation of proposals, and manage a portfolio of projects in close cooperation with other colleagues in the team and within the ECORYS Group as a whole. Most of the assignments will be conducted on behalf of the European Commission. You will lead or contribute to international project teams and contribute to conclusions and recommendations of reports to clients. You will also contribute to the further development of a network of colleagues in this area – the ECORYS Evaluation Community.

PROFILE/PERSON SPECIFICATION

You will have:
  • A university degree in economics, or a related discipline;
  • A track record of at least 5 years of relevant experience in evaluation or evaluation-related research, preferably in assignments carried out for the European Commission or related institutions;
  • Strong methodological skills, in evaluation as well as impact assessment (qualitative and/or quantitative);
  • An ability to think and act independently, to be impartial and to form views based on sound analysis;
  • Subject knowledge in the fields of, industrial and SME development competitiveness, regional and local development, employment, education or, ideally, a combination of these;
  • The capacity to think and act at a strategic level, and to explore synergies between thematic work areas;
  • A good knowledge and understanding of EU policies;
  • Highly organized and methodical in a deadline driven environment;
  • Excellent project management skills, including on the financial aspects of project management;
  • The ability to motivate and support staff in the delivery of projects;
  • An excellent level of written and spoken English. Knowledge of other EU languages is an advantage;
  • Good communication skills and a pro-active approach to cooperation with colleagues, partners, experts and clients in the areas of your competence.
