Regional C&B Manager, Asia Pacific at eBay

Reporting to the Director, Compensation & Benefits Asia Pacific, this newly created role will play a crucial role supporting eBay's APAC business units and be part of wider global Compensation and Benefits teams.
Working with HR Business Partners, Centres of Expertise and Shared Services partners, the position will drive progressive initiatives covering all of eBay's C&B programs including: base pay, benefits, incentives and equity.
The role will be based in eBay's Singapore office and require some international travel.
Primary Responsibilities include:
  • Understand all eBay's businesses and markets in the region
  • Act as a C&B business partner, strategic solution provider and counselor to regional HR and management by providing detailed analysis/models, expert advice and innovative recommendations
  • Implement communication initiatives to ensure appropriate understanding of C&B programs among HR colleagues, business leaders, people managers and employees
  • Identify opportunities to improve C&B programs - diagnose gaps between current and desired states and deploy actions to resolve those gaps, shaping the decision-making process and influencing stakeholders as appropriate
  • Work with the global C&B teams to balance local, regional and industry norms within the generally consistent global C&B framework
  • Lead C&B change projects of moderate complexity, designing and socializing changes which help support strategic business plans and strategies
  • Support Merger, Acquisition, Divestiture and Expansion (MADE) efforts as needed throughout the region
  • Conduct competitive benchmarking analysis across the region ensuring alignment with corporate strategies/philosophies and legal requirements, participating in and analyzing C&B surveys as necessary
  • Support external vendor selection and management ensuring the best possible service / price ratio for eBay's C&B programs and managing vendor relationships to ensure smooth plan changes and efficient ongoing administration
  • Establish processes and mechanisms to administer statutory and voluntary benefit programs in conjunction with external vendors, payroll and HR and periodically audit administration to ensure accuracy
  • Support the annual bonus, salary and equity planning cycles within the region
  • Support the Talent Acquisition team with job requisitions and offer escalations
Job requirements
  • A smart, motivated, self-starter, who has an appetite to make an impact on eBay's Asia Pacific businesses by delivering high quality C&B initiatives and support
  • Bachelor's degree in numerate discipline - preferably with post-graduate qualification in business or HR-related field
  • Significant C&B work experience gained within progressive organisations - preferably with experience of related industries (high tech, financial services, consumer products, etc.)
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills including advanced Excel / modeling skills
  • Open, honest and results-oriented communication style - able to effectively and credibly interact with stakeholders at all levels including: HRBPs; business leaders; employees; and external vendors
  • Confident presentation and facilitation skills
  • Demonstrated project management expertise
  • Culturally sensitive and internationally aware, including awareness of relevant legal frameworks
  • High level of personal integrity and comfortable operating with ambiguity - capable of balancing good governance with high quality client service
  • Pragmatic solution-finder who is willing to challenge the status quo
  • Adaptable and comfortable shifting between high-level design/consulting work and analytical/operational work
  • Fluent English - knowledge of other Asian languages advantageous
