BBC Radio Cambridgeshire has just launched the county's biggest ever breakfast show – and we’re looking for versatile, creative and talented people to join our team. You will be based in our multi-media centre on the edge of Cambridge and will support the development of content for a diverse county; from the rapidly expanding city of Peterborough in the north, to the open countryside of the rural Fens; a number of busy, thriving market towns; the splendour of the cathedral city of Ely and the world respected and historic university city of Cambridge.

Role

In this role, you'll be preparing and reading news bulletins, generating live content for programmes and recording packages - developed from your own exclusives, contacts and knowledge of the patch. You'll be responsible for writing accurate, concise and compelling copy. You’ll be a creative, intelligent and instinctive producer of news and will be capable of developing short-term ideas on the day, as well as planning and developing long-term themes based around quality journalism.

Requirements

As an experienced journalist, you'll have a track record in generating original content; you'll have bags of ideas; first class writing skills an excellent radio voice and an awareness of the needs of a multi-media, multi-platform newsroom. You must have the ability to work within a team, as well as on your own. You'll have a good understanding of our audiences and the different communities that make up our patch.
