About the Job: 
FINCA International is seeking an Enterprise Data Architect (EDA) who will be responsible to assure all levels of data architecture, including business, conceptual, logical, physical, and technical will be in accordance with FINCA’s enterprise data strategy. These actives will be performed under the guidance of the director of enterprise data at the enterprise level for master/reference data and the enterprise data warehouse system.
Tasks and Responsibilities: 
  • Plan and organize - 15%
    • Continue development of the technical data architecture strategy;
    • Lead the master data strategy;
    • Lead data design standards;
    • Lead the ETL, Data Warehouse, and reporting strategy;
    • Lead in the creation of an enterprise data naming standards.
  • Acquire and implement - 40%
    • Lead the support of data architecture software and hardware for efficient enterprise data systems including master/reference data, Enterprise Data Warehouse, and reporting;
    • Research, analysis, and suggestive resolutions of data issues presented within the data council;
    • Lead the mapping of the business data to the enterprise data model;
    • Lead in the capture, documentation, categorization, and cataloging of the existing reports across the organization for implementation of a reporting catalog;
    • Lead the physical design and development of data model for enterprise data warehouse systems driven;
    • Lead design of the logical enterprise data integration strategy;
    • Lead the master and reference data development and implementation;
    • Lead and develop the Enterprise Data ETL code and process;
    • Lead in the development of the Enterprise Master and Data Warehouse Systems;
    • Train and mentor enterprise data consultants.
  • Deliver and support - 35%
    • Lead the testing and implementation of the enterprise data systems;
    • Maintain the enterprise data artifacts including standards, models, designs, and documentation;
    • Assure the quality of the enterprise data implementation through periodic reviews and change management;
    • Maintain the Enterprise Master Data and Data Warehouse systems;
    • On a continual basis, reverse engineer enterprise data systems to assure correct physical design documentation.
  • Monitor and evaluate - 10%
    • Monitor the application of enterprise data policies, procedures, guidelines, and standards through participation on IS architectural review processes, data change management, and IS data committee;
    • Produce standard reports regarding data architecture KPIs that monitor data quality, data availability, business user’s satisfaction, data architecture exception count, data reuse statistics, and data incidents;
    • Perform data audits as required.
Qualifications: 
  • About 15 or more years’ experience as an Enterprise Data Architect, with responsibility for leading enterprise wide data initiatives;
  • Expert knowledge using SQL Server, SSRS, SSIS, SSAS, and Oracle tools;
  • Demonstrated competence gained from experience with relational database systems, as well as good understanding of multidimensional architecture and their limitations/issues and usage;
  • Knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL/ SQL scripting ( MS SQL), as well as visual basic;
  • Demonstrated ability to understand, communicate, and translate the business understanding and requirements into technical solutions;
  • Demonstrated competence gained from experience with strategic data architecture concepts and the costs/benefits and tradeoffs compared to immediate tactical strategies;
  • General understanding of data integration from both a business and technologies/tools (e.g. SQL Server Integration Services) level;
  • Demonstrated competence gained from experience enterprise wide data warehousing and Master data systems;
  • Demonstrated competence gain from experience of reporting solutions (e.g. MS SQL Server Reporting Services);
  • Demonstrated competence in understanding the principles of data quality and its proactive management gained from experience with resolving enterprise-wide data quality issues;
  • Prefer experience within financial services, microfinance or banking; preferably in international companies. Strong understanding of bank operations and services (loans, savings and deposits, etc.);
  • Demonstrated abilities in technical writing and documentation.
