To increase our Humanitarian capacity in international development around the developing world DFID is looking to recruit an A2/A2L Humanitarian Adviser for DFID South Sudan, Juba.
DFID has committed over £90 million a year to South Sudan for 2011-2015. Our focus is on building the foundations for peace and development, delivery of emergency humanitarian aid, and on improving security and access to justice and access to basic services.
DFID Humanitarian Advisers work with other DFID staff, the rest of the UK government, external partners including multilaterals, bilateral donors, foundations, NGOs, researchers and consultants, and developing country governments. Humanitarian Advisers will play a major role in:
1. The design and implementation of DFID’s humanitarian work in South Sudan;
2. Managing DFID’s relationships with its national and international partners to ensure the effective and timely delivery of assistance and to promote the protection of civilians;
3. Provide humanitarian advice to other sectors including human development and economic growth.
