Do you have a keen, demonstrable interest in the media and want to learn on the job? BBC Bristol has four 12 month placements available, including opportunities to work in the Natural History Unit, Factual programmes and post production.

 
Running for 12 months the scheme combines college learning with placements as production team assistants, production management assistants, runners and digital assistants. When you've completed the scheme you'll not only have had valuable work experience to help you get started in your career, but you'll also come away with an ‘Advanced Apprenticeship in Creative and Digital Media’ – a level three qualification that is recognised nationally.

Advanced Apprenticeships are level three qualifications. If you already have AS, A levels, BTEC Nationals or NVQ3 you are eligible to apply. If you are currently studying GCSEs/AS or A levels, or hold a degree level qualification or higher you are not eligible to apply.

The salary is £9,000 per annum.

Role

There will be four types of roles for which you can apply - Production Management Assistant, Production Runner, Digital Technician and Facilities Management Assistant.

Production Management Assistant – working in a busy television production office.
 
Production Runners (over 21s) – working in a television production office and working out on filming location.
 
Digital Technicians – working in the BBC digital post production village.

Programme Services Assistant – working in programme services which are responsible for IT, health and safety and office accommodation queries about equipment.

Requirements

We are looking for people who:

• are aged 16+ (21+ for the role of Runner)
• have a passion for the industry - maybe shown through community projects or voluntary work
• can show they are prepared to work hard – through a previous paid job in any sector
• can demonstrate a commitment to studying towards achieving a full Apprenticeship in Creative and Digital Media
• work well in a team and are able to get on well with many different types of people
• have good written and spoken communication skills
• are full of creative ideas
• are able to work under own initiative
• are punctual and responsible
• are well organised, good at planning ahead, and can meet deadlines
