Education coordinator


The Education Coordinator’s role is to lead and coordinate Christian Aid’s education programme at national and regional level to build knowledge and understanding of global justice amongst young people in the English schools’ sector. The role has a particular focus on deepening Christian Aid’s partnership with the Church of England’s schools and academies to promote and resource effective teaching and learning about global justice as part of their distinctive Christian ethos.
The Education Coordinator will need to work closely with colleagues in Christian Aid, including supporting Christian Aid’s volunteer teachers and regional staff. He/she will work at a national level with the Church of England and will need to be active in networks and coalitions that support the education programme and represent Christian Aid when required within specific education projects and programmes. He/she will need to be active in promoting Christian Aid within the education sector.
You will be working as part of the Church Relations Team to help Christian Aid build its partnership with the churches in England to end poverty. Excellent communication skills, backed by sound knowledge and experience of education, will be essential in working closely with national structures. You will need to be imaginative, creative and able to develop strong relationships with partner organisations. At the same time you will need to be an able team player who is able to work collaboratively with colleagues.
