Determine resource allocation (likely to involve several hundred FTEs across multiple locations) across the portfolio, in collaboration with stakeholders.
Develop shared services strategy organization capability, becoming a key destination for development of functional talent.
Position the function effectively within the overall organisation operating model.

Lead and motivate an effective service organisation. Act as budget holder for GSS program delivery as defined by the steering committee.

Change authority
Define and deliver shared services strategy, including the accompanying change management and communications plans, in alignment with overall business strategy.
While we are in the design and implementation phase, the Head of each Shared Service will retain accountability for each of their functional areas i.e. they will decide what goes into the Shared Service and what will be retained by the core function.  Once GSS is up and running, this accountability will shift to GSS and the Head of GSS will have a "service provider" relationship with each function, with clear service level agreements. During the design phase the job holder will need to secure agreement with global process owners.
Use understanding of global complexities to apply to shared services centres across geographies efficiently and consistently with measurable results.
Determine the potential for additional GSS scope on an ongoing basis. Identify improvement opportunities and actively engage in implementing improvements.

Every individual has a duty to both themselves and those around them to ensure that safe practice is adhered to at all times. In addition to any specific accountabilities for HSSE, all managers are accountable for HSSE within their area of the Business and are responsible for ensuring that their team adopt exemplary HSSE behaviours.

Manage multiple stakeholders (GEC, Steering Committee, Heads of Function/Global Process Owners, retained organisation, AGMs, broader population and external suppliers).

It is expected this role will require significant travel.

Experience required
The job holder will have led (ideally) or had significant responsibility for developing and deploying global Shared Business Services Strategies and new delivery models. Ideally, this experience will have been with global organisations (not necessarily oil and gas sector) and will have included:

Strong, credible leader who is able to lead change effectively. A visionary with the drive and resilience to deliver successful implementation of the global shared services concept.
Ability to influence at all levels in order to successfully sell the opportunity of the GSS program to multiple stakeholders. Be viewed as a credible and sincere source of Global Business Services thought leadership and expertise.
