BBC Newsgathering is at the heart of BBC News providing news reports, pictures and audio material to all BBC News programmes and services both in the UK and internationally. It provides content for television, radio, online and interactive services which is of the highest possible editorial and technical standard which in turn provides the best value for money for BBC audiences. It has to ensure that in the face of increasing competition, the BBC is the world leader in broadcast newsgathering at the forefront of both the range of editorial coverage and technological innovation.
 
Newsgathering Operations provides personnel and broadcast and satellite communications equipment in the field for news and news events coverage, both in the UK and abroad.

Role

You'll provide general support and organisational help for Newsgathering Operations, working to Resource Managers and Operations Manager.

Requirements

The successful candidate will have a strong background in admin and be a first class organiser. You'll have excellent problem solving skills and a good knowledge of BBC systems including SAP and booking procedures as well as being familiar with Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint. You'll also be confident in dealing with staff issues and communicate effectively at all levels and maintain good working relationships with key contacts.  You'll have an appreciation of editorial priorities and an informed interest in News and Current Affairs programme output.
