Remuneration will be in compliance with the AusAID Advisor Remuneration Framework
If you are looking for a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of Papua New Guinea (PNG) by helping enhance community voice in Government decision making and the implementation of service delivery, please read on.
Strongim Pipol Strongim Nesen (SPSN) is an AusAID (Australian Agency for International Development) funded democratic governance program which seeks to ‘enable civil society, together with the state and others, to better meet the needs and priorities of men, women and children in communities across PNG’.
In delivering our mandate, we are seeking experienced professionals who can join a committed team to:
  • Lead research on democratic governance issues, practices and trends across PNG;
  • Provide technical advice to SPSN in better integrating democratic governance into all program activities;
  • Provide advice to SPSN’s government and civil society partners on institutional and program strategies for “democratic governance”;
  • Assist field teams in how to cultivate democratic governance practice at community level — with a clear focus on supporting collective action leading to service delivery;
  • Increase knowledge and skills of SPSN staff on democratic governance principles, approaches, practices and methodologies;
  • Increase the program’s focus on advocacy and civic education for good governance;
  • Contribute to the development of a body of knowledge which helps define the relevance of different democratic governance approaches to service sustainability;
  • Conduct action research on SPSN support models and compare to relevant and often close alternatives such as Community Driven Development tools.
There is currently no ToR for the fulfilment of this role, but there is a keen interest in hearing from you if you are interested and believe you can contribute to SPSN in these areas. Positions can be on a full or part-time basis, initially for 1 year, with the expectation of extension.
To register interest, please provide a statement regarding your relevant experience (maximum 2 pages), attach your CV and forward it to:
