Department

Procurement is responsible for managing an external spend of £1.6bn. Our strategy is to optimise supplier engagement to deliver value for money, simplify processes, raise service levels, manage commercial risks and develop successful internal and external relationships while ensuring our procurement activities are carried out in a sustainable way. We aim to provide an intuitive service to make our collective purchasing power and expertise easily available to all of the BBC.
The base for this role is flexible and regular travel will be required.

Role

Acting as the key interface between Procurement and the regional business areas, you'll ensure we engage with business areas across the BBC, building informed and insightful partnerships to deliver timely and effective support and working closely with category management and strategic sourcing. Accountable for procurement-wide initiatives, objectives and targets that impact the regions, you will be uniquely placed to facilitate and, in some instances, lead on these. You'll provide leadership to a team of Business Partners, shaping and managing the team’s development, career progression and personal objectives, alongside keeping abreast of best practice procurement business partnering, through an external network.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will be an action orientated, commercially focused individual with a proven track record in procurement including tendering, negotiation and relationship management and will possess strong analytical and problem solving skills. With strong interpersonal and influencing skills, you'll be comfortable developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders across a wide range of people, levels and functions. In addition, you'll have good team management skills, with experience of managing, supporting and developing a team spread across a wide geographical area.

Interviews anticipated to be held 13 March.
