The Centre of Excellence for Accounting and Reporting is at the heart of the BBC’s Finance function, delivering an integrated, sustainable and high quality accounting and reporting service to our business and Finance customers at the right level of cost. The Process Accounting team will be responsible for leading the core accounting processes of BBC Finance, ensuring an effective, high quality and consistent delivery operation, and developing/embedding a culture of operational excellence and continuous improvement within the General Accounting, Capital Accounting, Programme Accounting and Treasury Back Office teams. The position of Process Team Lead is a key position within the Centre of Excellence.

Role

8 month attachment / fixed term contract

You’ll coordinate and supervise the work of a team of accountants and assistants working in Finance Operations to a high professional standard that meets business requirements. You will set team objectives, policies and procedures and ensure that they are clearly defined and communicated, whilst determining methods of achieving these in conjunction with other service delivery teams. You’ll also manage the production and maintenance of short & medium term plans and of cost centre, project and capital budgets. Alongside this, you’ll manage the process of providing information and supporting commentary and insightful analysis for the management accounting teams and divisional finance as appropriate.

Requirements

As a key member of the Centre of Excellence team, you will possess strong leadership and motivation skills and excellent collaboration skills. Along with a professional accounting qualification e.g. ACCA, ACA, CIMA, (or equivalent business qualification), you will be skilled at managing relationships with key stakeholders and be results driven. You’ll demonstrate excellent communication & interpersonal skills to enable the development of effective working relationships with a wide range of colleagues. Furthermore, you’ll be able to present sound and well reasoned arguments drawing from a range of strategies to persuade people in a way that results in agreement.
