BBC Worldwide is looking for a qualified Lawyer with 4 years PQE to provide legal support and expertise on film and television financing, production and distribution agreements. This is a fantastic 6 month opportunity to work across a variety of exciting projects within a fast paced team. Such as the big budget film Walking with Dinosaurs through to licensing agreements for BBC Earth’s live event and our YouTube channel. The ideal candidate will have media experience with excellent drafting skills. You’ll be a good organiser with the ability to juggle a variety of tasks some of which may be slightly administrative.  
We are keen to fill this position as soon as possible therefore this will be ideal for anyone who is working their notice as an immediate start would be preferable. This role is based at the Media Centre in White City.

Role

You’ll provide legal support and expertise on film and television financing, production and distribution agreements entered into by the BBC Worldwide group around the world. Working closely with the Head of Business and Legal Affairs, Production, you’ll offer advice to production units in relation to commissioning, rights and clearance requirements for TV productions, principally produced by the BBC Earth Productions business unit. As well as draft, negotiate and advise on the above, liaising with Head of Coproduction Funding/ Director of LBA and external as appropriate.

Requirements

You’ll have experience of drafting and negotiating film & TV finance and production contracts including bond guaranty’s, inter creditor agreements, tax credit financing, talent agreements, production service agreement, contributor location, TV commissioning, film and TV distribution agreements. As well as an understanding and experience of sales, distribution, licensing, and publishing agreements in film and or TV would be preferred. With four years’ experience PQE you’ll have an appetite for broadening your expertise in drafting and negotiating corporate and commercial transactions within a media organisation.
