Responsibilities:
- Support a wide range of technology including Linux and Windows portable, desktop, and server systems and network systems
- Install and maintain desktop and server operating systems and applications
- Maintain and monitor system and network performance and security
- Provide technical support to customers
- Write customer-facing documentation of all systems
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree
- Willingness and desire to learn new technologies
- Strong customer service orientation
- Linux system administration
- Windows and/or network system administration
- Programming and scripting ability (Perl, Python, shell, Java, etc.)
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision within an interrupt-oriented environment
- Project management and documentation skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Exceptional client communication skills
- Demonstrated experience or ability to learn several of the following skills:
- Operating systems: Linux, Windows Server 2003/2008, UNIX, BSD
- Networking: configuration management, monitoring
- Databases: MySQL, Oracle Database, PostgreSQL, SQL Server 2005/2008
- Web services: Apache HTTPD, Apache Tomcat, IIS
- Content Management Systems
- Application distribution
- Server virtualization
