Would you like to help DFID rise to the challenge of reducing world poverty and do all that we can to achieve the Millennium Development Goals?

The Stabilisation Unit (SU), reporting to DFID, FCO and MOD, wishes to recruit up to two A2 Governance Advisers with significant experience of working on fragile and conflict-affected states.

The SU is the UK Government’s centre of expertise and good practice in conflict, stabilisation and security and justice, helping HMG to prevent or reduce violence in fragile and conflict affected states, protect people and key institutions, promote political processes and prepare for longer-term development. The Governance Advisers will play a key role in helping the Stabilisation Unit meet its objectives by strengthening the Unit’s ability to provide practical governance advice.

Vacancies will be based in our UK headquarters in London. However, you will be required to travel to difficult and hostile environments, often at short notice to perform the duties of the post.
