Applications Development Engineer (KTP Associate)

Salary: £25,000 to £30,000 per annum, according to qualifications and experience
This is a fixed-term contract for two years.

As part of a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) you will lead a challenging and innovative engineering design project in a small company environment, supported by the expertise and resources of a major university engineering department.
YASA Motors Limited is a thriving young company specialising in high power and torque dense axial flux motors. It has already secured development contracts with industrial partners and a major automotive Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM). The longer term goal is to supply multiple OEMs, industrial, aerospace and marine businesses with the highest torque and power dense electric motors and generators. Working at YASA's premises in Oxfordshire you will help to produce prototype axial flux motors using novel cooling technologies with the aim of providing a step change in power output.
You should have a first degree (minimum 2.1) or higher level qualification in a hard science or engineering subject and be able to demonstrate real-life practical problem solving abilities in either of these areas. It is essential that you are keen to learn new science and engineering from any discipline and apply this knowledge to solve set challenges. Whilst playing a key role as the leader of a strategic project, you will be required to work towards goals without close supervision and be comfortable to pursue the routes you have chosen in collaboration with your colleagues in order to achieve success.
