A fantastic opportunity for a qualified accountant within BA’s Strategy Department. As a member of the team you will be involved in proactively developing and delivering a medium term financial forecast that is aligned to the business objectives. You will need to demonstrate the ability to collect and organise financial data, exceptional analytical skills combined with the ability to translate this information into clear, meaningful, accurate and timely financial data that supports BA's business plan for the Finance Leadership Team (FLT). Financial modelling experience is preferred.

As a finance analyst within the Strategy and Business Units directorate of BA you will play a critical part in proactively shaping and influencing financial performance of the Group through commercial insight and top class financial analysis.
 
You will be part of the team leading and delivering a medium term financial forecast that is aligned to the business objectives. Assisting in the production of meaningful, accurate and timely financial data that supports the development and delivery of the BA business plan to the Finance Leadership Team (FLT).
 
Job Dimensions/Measures
You will play a key role in :-
  • Providing ongoing insight of forecast financial performance, with a three to five year outlook
  • Establishing and maintaining visibility of expected performance versus financial targets and key measures
  • Delivering regular updates regarding of variance to plan
  • Ensuring financial targets are aligned with the overall business strategy
You will be required to actively build and maintain strong relationships with finance and non-finance colleagues at all levels in BA and other airlines
Modelling experience would be beneficial to the role.

  • Strong influencing capability in driving key decisions through to successful conclusion
  • Ability to exercise independent professional judgement within an overall business context
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to distil complex technical information into clear simple messages
  • High level of analytical skills and financially astute
  • Ability to identify impact of decisions on the business and the Company’s key performance indicators
Essential Qualifications
  • Degree and full professional finance qualification such as ACA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent.
Experience
  • Influencing decision making to ensure financial consequences are taken into account
  • Budgetary control and business/financial planning
  • Design and implementation of robust, practical and sustainable internal controls
  • Proven capability to prioritise work, work under pressure and operate to tight deadlines
  • A track record of engaging and influencing senior level management.
Expertise
  • Numerate and accurate
  • Excellent excel skills, with modelling experience
  • Ability to work collaboratively with non-finance colleagues
  • Stakeholder engagement and management.
