Starting salary: £37,382 rising annually to £45,941 
  
This is a fixed term appointment until 31 July 2015. 
  
You will join a vibrant group of ten Economists, including two Professors and a Reader in Economics. The group has an established record of excellence in undergraduate teaching, as evidenced by the high scores obtained in recent National Student Satisfaction Surveys. The group has broad research interests in the fields of applied/empirical Economics. The record of research has recently been strengthened through a number of outstanding new appointments and the research culture has further been enriched by the creation of several post-doctoral research posts. Curriculum development and teaching excellence is given high priority. The department takes pride in its contribution in helping Oxford Brookes University climb four places in the Sunday Times University Guide 2013 and in the fact that the guide notes that the University’s “ success is founded on depth allied to quality in its research and a widely-based teaching strength”. 
  
You will be responsible for: 
  •  teaching students using appropriate instruction methods such as lectures, 
    tutorials and seminars
  • undertaking REF quality personal and collaborative research and other forms 
    of scholarly research
  • curriculum development work including identification of consumer 
    requirements, planning, development and evaluation of courses and course 
    materials. 
      
    You should have: 
  • a masters degree and/or a professional qualification in a relevant business 
    subject area.
  • experience of teaching in higher education at undergraduate and postgraduate level
  • experience of undertaking research in Economics or a closely related subject 
    demonstrated by research track records or publications.    
  • Candidates with research interests in any area of Economics will be welcome however those working in the field of applied/empirical Economics would be desirable.
