Salary £37,382 to £44,607 (plus £2,000 for recognised accounting qualification)

Operating out of the Finance Office, the University of Warwick is seeking a Finance Manager to provide accurate and timely Management Information to senior University management, Chairs of academic departments, Heads of administrative departments and Directors of commercial activities. This will also include providing key information for planning, decision making and control, particularly in relation to the assessment of new opportunities.
As part of the Finance Office, the role will involve taking responsibility for the preparation of financial information for academic, administrative and commercial activities including management and financial accounts, reports to committees, budget and forecasting and project assessment. In addition to this, the individual will be involved in special project work, preparing full business plans and critical appraisal of such ventures.
The appointee will be an ambitious and pro-active individual with excellent communication skills, possessing the ability to provide advice, constructive criticism and counsel on a variety of financial matters, including market analysis, pricing policy, business risk and performance indicators as well as the ability to critically evaluate new business opportunities. The ideal candidate will possess a recognised professional accountancy qualification with broad experience in a finance function, or within practice, with a sound knowledge of accounting standards and good overall technical awareness. In addition, the ideal individual will require substantial experience of the preparation of business plans, management accounting and the preparation of statutory accounts with a good knowledge of VAT and corporation tax.
