Insurance Services Manager University of Warwick

Salary: £37,012 to £44,166 per annum

Our client is seeking an Insurance Services Manager to take responsibility for the assessment, placement and negotiation of insurances and other alternative risk transfer measures for the protection of the organisation’s tangible and intangible assets along with providing a professional service on all insurance related issues including risk management and mitigation measures.

As part of a dynamic Purchasing and Insurance Office and reporting to the Head of Purchasing and Insurance, the role will be responsible for advising the senior management team and the wider University community on all aspects of insurance, including liabilities, and risk mitigation measures to facilitate the business of the University. The individual will negotiate the annual placement of the University’s insurance programme ensuring cost efficiency and compliance with EU tendering process and financial regulations and keep abreast of the insurance sector, maintaining an awareness of potential restrictions or new areas of cover, assessing any impact for the University and making suitable recommendations.

The appointee will need to be an excellent communicator with the ability to forge links with key stakeholders whilst having specialist and commercial insurance experience gained in a broking environment or a similar in-house insurance post. The ideal candidate will possess an ACII (Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute) or similar professional qualification and have detailed technical knowledge and experience of property, motor, travel and liability insurances along with an understanding of the Higher Education sector.  The appointee will manage an Insurance Co-ordinator and will enjoy a high level of autonomy and the opportunity to shape the decision making process.
