CSD is a non-profit foundation specialised in safety and security for humanitarian and development organisations worldwide. We believe that sharing security knowledge and skills enables other humanitarian organisations to work in unsafe areas in order to reduce human suffering and bring about a better world.
For our office in Amersfoort we are looking for an

Operational & Acquisition Manager

The operational & acquisition manager is responsible for the day to day operations, clients and development of products.

You will be leading eight CSD staff members and oversee around 50 freelancers and volunteers. The operational & acquisition manager develops the CSD strategy together with the director and implements the strategy.

You keep in touch with our clients and partners (mostly NGOs) and you seek new clients. New developments and products are initiated by you.

This is a position that will further develop in time. Tasks can change accordingly. The operational & acquisition manager reports to the director. The language in the office is Dutch.

You are responsible for the following tasks:

• You are responsible for the operational management of the organisation. You are the driving force for CSD’s eight staff members.
• You are responsible for the translation of the strategy in operational goals and oversee the implementation of those goals.
• You actively seek new clients
• You maintain contact with key clients
• You develop new products and services
• You are responsible for CSD’s annual budget and financial management.
• Other tasks that develop in the future.

Profile:
As CSD is developing, tasks are not fully set yet. That is why we are looking for an entrepreneurial candidate with a Higher Professional Education (HBO) or Academic level of working and thinking. You have experience with managing a growing organisation and know how to drive this growth. Your business skills and knowledge are acquired in a commercial organisation.

A strong network in the “NGO Community” is a prerequisite for this job. You like to search for new clients and know what the security needs are for NGOs. Enthusiasm for acquisition and networking characterises your way of working as you have a proven record of successful acquisitions. You like to inspire CSD staff to connect to new clients and successfully come to an agreement.

You have excellent communication skills and you know how to coach your colleagues. During a minimum of seven years you have managed a team in day-to-day operations. You do not have a “9-17.00” mentality as CSD operations can be in all time-zones and your priority is to get the job done. Travelling in risk areas is part of this position.
Dutch is your mother tongue and you are fluent in English. French is an advantage.
