Transformation Finance Lead - Diageo | United Kingdom


18 month Fixed Term Contract
Context
The GDBS function aims to create value for Diageo by driving exceptional business performance through the design and delivery of integrated processes, systems and data, managing costs through excellence in service delivery. The function has been through a significant change in recent years, transitioning from a largely regional / market based organisation to a function with a truly global strategy and organisation. GDBS requires excellent business partnership with Finance to deliver first class global Business Performance management (BPM) and Decision Support processes.
This role is responsible for the provision of world class finance support to the GDBS Transformation Project. The project aims to significantly reduce the cost base over the next 18 months to align with total quartile companies.
Purpose of Role
Provide commercial and analytical challenge and build to the IS Transformation project’s business cases, support ISS to drive value and service improvement throughout the project and ensure business case savings are implemented in the BAU cost base.
Top 3-5 accountabilities
  • Finance Business Partner for Transformation Project Lead and Project Steering Committee
  • Provide decision support on key projects to drive continued quality of service while achieving targeted cost savings.
  • Oversee and drive compliance with SOA and DDM governance requirements
  • Engage with procurement and global vendors on significant number of contract renegotiations
  • Able to clearly understand and communicate financial performance for all cost areas mentioned above.
Qualifications and experience required
  • Qualified accountant / college/university degree in finance/accounting
  • Relevant professional experience
  • Fluent in English
  • Excellent financial system and Excel skills
  • Experience of being a senior member of a project management team
  • Experience of working in a role requiring significant communication skills across a number of locations
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders
  • Ability to apply Commercial acumen to driving value adding activities
