 SENIOR AUDIT OFFICER
INTERNAL AUDIT DIVISION
The Caribbean Development Bank (CDB/the Bank) is seeking to recruit is seeking to recruit a Senior Audit Officer (SAO) to provide support to the Deputy Director in the efficient management of the Internal Audit Division (IAD).  The successful candidate will be based at CDB’s office in St. Michael, Barbados.
CDB is a regional multilateral development bank which was established in October 1969 to contribute to the harmonious economic growth and development of the member countries in the Caribbean Region and to promote economic cooperation and integration among them, having special and urgent regard to the needs of the less-developed members of the Region.  CDB began operations in January 1970 and has become a leading catalyst for providing development financing, technical assistance and policy advice to its Borrowing Member Countries for the reduction of poverty.  
The Role 
The SAO supports the Deputy Director (DD), IAD by taking responsibility for certain IAD assignments that will cover its assurance, advisory services, and investigations obligations.  The SAO is expected to deliver work product allocated by the DD, IAD within agreed timeframes using approved methodologies and within IAD policy guidelines.
To this end, the SAO is responsible to ensure that:
  • For all work assigned, the professional quality of internal auditing is in conformance with the Internal Auditing Standards as set out by the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) in the International Professional Practice Framework; and
  • The quality of any investigations services assigned is in compliance with agreed standards.
The Candidate
 Eligible candidates should have:
  1. A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration
  2. An internationally recognised accounting and internal auditing professional qualification (i.e. ACA, CIA, CISA, etc.);
  3. At least ten (10) years’ experience in a financial or multilateral organisation, seven (7) of which must be at the Senior Audit Officer level;
  4. Significant experience in fraud and corruption investigations.
  5. The successful candidate must be willing to live and work in Barbados.
 Compensation
