Summary of Responsibilities: !
Under direction of the Senior Vice President, the Director of Global Quality Management will develop, coordinate, and ensure excellent standards of clinical care in accordance with AHF’s medical as well as administrative policies and procedures, at all global medical programs.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities!
1. Oversees and supports implementation of organizational care management, monitoring & evaluation, and quality improvement plan
2. In coordination with the Global Technical team and in-country quality teams, develops and coordinates the global monitoring and evaluation plan that allows critical programmatic decisions to be data-driven and evidence-based
3. Monitors global clinical quality including performance of physicians and deliverables such as essential HIV treatment standards
4. Develops and modifies standard operating procedures (SOPs) and protocols for improved outcomes in clinical operations and supports Senior Medical Advisor in ensuring adherence to SOPs at clinic level
5. Develops and standardizes the capacity of global clinical staff in best practices for HIV care. Is available to staff via email and phone for medical-related questions or need other related support
6. Assesses and recommends standards of care for patients, including appropriate use of new technologies in treatment
7. Participates, develops, and coordinates Continuing Medical Education (CME) programs; develops and mentors medical and operational research activities including development of presentations on updated clinical care practices
8. Active participant in bureau-level clinical case teleconferences with ability to offer expert advice and mentorship on contextually relevant best HIV clinical practices
9. Develops and coordinates operational research activities for global medical programs
10. Reviews and provides insightful critiques for authors of any AHF-originated abstracts submitted to HIV conferences or scientific journals
11. Guides and provides medical input for grants written in response to global RFAs (Request for Applications), as needed
12. Represents AHF in the capacity of global clinical expert in collaborations with Ministries of Health, USAID, Global Fund, NGOs and other partners, as needed
13. Collaborates with Chief of Medicine-US, Bureau Chiefs from Africa, Asia and Eastern Europe and Latin America and the Global Technical team on general clinical practices, policies and procedures
14. Other duties as assigned by immediate supervisors

Participation in AHF Meetings/Committees!
• Global Executive Committee
• Medical Executive Committee for all four Bureaus
• Resource Acquisition/Program Development
• Global Technical team calls
• Bureau-level Clinical Case Conferences
• All other AHF meetings as assigned or requested.

Supervisory Responsibilities!
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with AHF’s policies and applicable laws

Qualifications!

Education and/or Experience!
• Doctoral Degree (M.D, D.O) or equivalent
• Masters of Public Health with focus on international programs
• Must have at least 2 years of HIV/AIDS clinical experience
• Must have international work experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Internet-based research and email use

Additional skills below are preferred but not required: !
• Demonstrated ability in medical writing and record of publications
• Experience in grant writing

Computer/Software Skills & Abilities!
Fluency in word processing, spreadsheets and presentation software. Ability to navigate and conduct research on the Internet.

Other Skills & Abilities/Qualifications!
Ability to travel internationally as required
Ability to interact with all levels of senior management and individuals in the private, non-profit and government sector.

Certificates, Licenses and Registrations!
• Valid licensure as a medical doctor in country of origin
• Valid DEA certificate or equivalent
