Director of Research Policy & Advocacy
WaterAid works through supporting local organizations and government authorities to design low cost sustainable projects using appropriate and affordable technologies that can be managed by the community itself. WaterAid also seeks to influence the policy change through government and other key international organizations to secure and protect the right of poor people to safe, affordable water and sanitation services.
WaterAid influencing agenda is based on evidence on the ground and complimented by advocacy in order to improve access of poor people to improved WASH services. You will champion policy influencing emerging from policy analysis, research and practice which should result in sustainable improvements in equitable access to safe water and sanitation to rights holders. You will lead WaterAid’s engagement with national level policy debates in the sector, drawing on robust research carried out at local government and community levels.
You have the responsibility to ensure that the latest information from these policy debates feeds into WaterAid’s wider work. You will also be responsible for strengthening networking and collaboration amongst sector stakeholders, international agencies to encourage the development of pro‐poor policies and the achievement of water and sanitation sector goals. You are member of WaterAid’s Senior Management Team.
