The Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE) is a company licensed by the Capital Markets Authority (CMA) to facilitate the trading of financial products through the provision of a trading platform for listed securities.

In line with this mandate, the Exchange is seeking to recruit qualified, dynamic, self- motivated and results- oriented individuals to fill the following positions:
Manager, Investor Relations and Communications
Responsible for developing and implementing Investor Relations and Communications strategies that will promote and enhance the brand of the NSE in order to create goodwill and build international credibility; positioning the NSE as a market leader in the securities industry, while ensuring higher returns and profitability.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Planning, designing and implementing the communications strategy aimed at advancing the mission and objectives of the NSE.
- Maintaining regular contact with media representatives and stakeholders to promote good public relations for NSE and in addition, promptly responding to requests for information from the media, other stakeholders and the general public.
- Coordinating the marketing of NSE products & services.
- Managing the investor relations component of the NSE as a corporate entity.
- Managing the NSE Corporate Social Responsibility function.
- Overseeing the management of the Information Centre.
- Planning and organising workshops, seminars, conferences, exhibitions and road shows designed to create awareness and sensitise stakeholders including the general public.
- Overseeing Public Education and Training including Securities Industry Training Institute (SITI) Programmes.
- Coordinating the design and production of NSE Educational and Promotional materials.
Minimum Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Communications, Business Administration or similar fields from a reputable university; a Masters degree will be an added advantage.
- Working knowledge of the Exchange’s products and services.
- Minimum five (5) years of relevant experience in a senior position in a marketing department or equivalent.
- Membership to a relevant professional body (PRSK, MSK etc)

Officer, Surveillance
Overall Purpose
Reporting to the Manager, Trading Operations, the selected candidate will be responsible for conducting market surveillance on a broad range of listed securities with a view to maintaining a fair, efficient and transparent market.

Reporting to the Manager, Trading Operations, the selected candidate will be responsible for conducting market surveillance on a broad range of listed securities with a view to maintaining a fair, efficient and transparent market.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Carrying out real time surveillance of listed securities and providing an early warning alert on market irregularities detected.
- Examining transactions showing irregular movements based on day-to-day surveillance of market movements and information obtained from various sources including public and undisclosed information affecting a listed security.
- Monitoring trading, order matching and ensuring that stockbrokers/ Automated Trading System operators comply with the NSE Trading Rules.
- Monitoring and reviewing print and electronic media reports and other relevant sources of information to identify securities requiring detailed analysis and investigation.
- Identifying exceptions to usual patterns of dealing and recommending further investigations against market participants involved in dubious deals in violation of NSE and CMA laws, rules and regulations.
- Identifying people and early warning signs of unlawful conduct to prevent infractions and protect investors.
- Preparing end of day market reports.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Studies, Economics, Management, IT, Statistics or equivalent from a relevant field.
- Minimum two (2) years relevant work experience with the capital markets.
- Knowledge of the capital markets.
- Must possess strong work ethics.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Working knowledge of the Automated Trading System.
- Planning and organisation skills.
- Possess information gathering and presentation skills.
- Good conflict resolution skills.
- Proficiency in ICT.
- Quality and time consciousness.
