QGC is a leading Australian coal seam gas explorer and producer. QGC is establishing one of Australia’s largest capital infrastructure projects to turn our world-class reserves of coal seam gas into liquefied natural gas (LNG). Queensland Curtis LNG, a priority project for QGC, involves expanding our exploration and development in southern and central Queensland and transporting gas via a 380km buried pipeline to Curtis Island near Gladstone, where it will be liquefied. QGC operates the gas-fired Condamine Power Station, the world’s first combined-cycle power station to run entirely on coal seam gas.

Position Summary

• The role will be on a 15/13 rota in the field. This role will be directly responsible for providing 'on the ground' support to teams of vendors that are involved in complex automation/commissioning tasks that present considerable project risks if unmanaged. 
• The role also has a focus on matters relating to operational readiness, acceptance, clarification to/from Ops engineering group (in the field of instrument and controls) and directly supporting ICSU team peers by seeking and providing accurate and up to date information.

Key Accountabilities

ICT Delivery • Delivers the ICT functional plan for Operations Interface 
• Delivers the Operational Readiness plans for ICT infrastructure under the BG Value Assurance Framework 
• Implement training systems for ICT Operations personnel 
• Influences QGC ICT strategy e.g. development of cause and effects , front end engineering, automation disaster recovery 
• Implements business process to support facility start up and operations – e.g. fault management and investigation processes 
• Works cross-functionally to deliver performance monitoring / reporting 
• Maintains a clear ICT site leadership presence during Facility Start-Up ensuring safe work processes and behaviours are embedded 
• Provides production and cost leadership, maximising value from functional experts and industry best practice 
• Evaluates implications of actions on profitability, costs and values 
• Ensures ICT standard operating procedures are adhered to in field 
• Initiates and implements change to support business improvement 

People Management• The incumbent must abide by company policy in relation to HR policies and procedures such as annual HR cycle and meet deadlines within the appropriate timeframes

Unique Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Attribute

• Significant operations experience in operational readiness, commissioning and start-up of complex high availability automation, telecommunications and safety systems Infrastructure. 
• Demonstrated HR/IR experience recruiting, managing, coaching and developing staff; managing performance appraisals and setting performance and development objectives 
• Extensive experience in establishing and managing service contracts for automation systems infrastructure
• Prior on-site field maintenance/operating experience preferred 
• Highly experienced in identifying and managing risks 
• The incumbent is required to have a strong maintenance and plant start-up background within and operational context to ensure the project deliverables/outcomes are aligned with Operational expectations (and thereby 'pave the way' for a streamlines formal AC1 handover/sign off)
• Ability to undertake occasional travel
