Position Summary

 The Project Controls Engineer transforms business strategy into defined projects and executable work plans, with resource-loaded schedules, by identifying the required objectives, the activities needed to complete them and the necessary resources and costs.

Key Accountabilities

Provide information management support to BG Brasil operated and non-operated projects
   - Implement and own document control systems to support document management processes and procedures.
   - Prepare project specific document management processes and procedures, coding structures, retrieval and access protocols (including the control and recording of project correspondence)
   - Manage the receipt and distribution of project documentation   
- Ensure that all documents requiring formal control are identified and that their status is effectively tracked throughout the life of projects.
- Develop project plans and schedules (using P6 software) and monitor and report project activities progress within the BG Brazil project portfolio in accordance with BG corporate standards and guidelines, including the Company WBS and Earned Value methodologies. Track and report milestone status and provide monthly updated forecasts of planned milestone dates.
- Verify progress and performance against plan, identify areas of potential cost and schedule overrun requiring corrective action, forecast completions and provide accurate and timely project monthly and ad hoc reports
- Providing all project controls services to meet the needs of the Asset and the project management team with a customer service oriented approach
- Thoroughly understanding and customizing to ensure “fit for purpose” and improving processes prescribed by BG Group (e.g. The BG Way, baseline management, risk management, performance measurement and earned value reporting and change control
- Ensure that all interface issues are identified, understood, documented and agreed to and that baseline performance is monitored and reviewed

Unique Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Attribute

 - Experience in all aspects of document management gained by working in oil & gas client or engineering companies on a number of large projects.
Experience with project collaboration tools and systems
- Good knowledge of document management systems, standards and guidelines
- Proven track record illustrating a commitment to HSSE and identification and recommendation of HSSE improvements within a project.
- Hands-on experience with Project Controls and document management systems and procedures supported by current software applications – Excel, Primavera P6 EPPM (and earlier versions), Pertmaster/Oracle Risk Analysis, Documentum, etc.
- Experience of successful planning, scheduling, performance measurement and reporting on major oil and gas projects.
- Experience of working on projects with joint venture partners and directly interfacing with the project and asset leadership team.
- Knowledge of all phases of major oil and gas projects e.g. FEED, EPC, commissioning, start-up etc. and experience of the value assurance and governance processes.
Technical professional with proven experience in project management and delivery
 
   - Experience with a proven track record of successful project controls performance on complex multi-discipline projects
   - Certification from an internationally recognised professional organisation, e.g. Project Management Institute (PMI), Association for Project Management (APM), is desirable.
   - Previous experience working in a variety of cultures and able to manage inter-cultural sensitivities to an advantage
   - Excellent communicator who is able to challenge and influence others in a constructive manner to achieve positive outcomes. 
   - Fluent in Brazilian Portuguese and English
 
Special Features:
 
Potentially extended business assignments to the UK or other BG Assets may be required, and the ability to travel on shorter-term business trips to other international locations is desired.
