Manager of Instructional Support – Improving Schools Initiative

Position Summary:
EdVestors seeks an experienced teacher leader with strong facilitation skills to coordinate the work of teacher teams in all three ISI schools. Under the supervision of the Director of the Improving Schools Initiative, the Manager of Instructional Support will work primarily in the schools, supporting teachers in their efforts to effectively utilize data to drive strategic instructional improvement. The Manager of Instructional Support will also be responsible for supporting the EdVestors ISI team, and teams at the school sites with analysis and organization of student assessment results.
Responsibilities:
INSTRUCTIONAL SUPPORT
  • Support all three ISI schools in the effective utilization of common planning time to build collaborative teams and drive student achievement.
  • Train and support teacher leaders to effectively facilitate common planning time meetings including data review meetings and co-planning meetings.
  • Train and support teacher leaders in the delivery of professional development.
  • Support teams of teachers in developing and implementing data-driven action plans (in ELA and mathematics).
  •  Collaborate with the ISI Director and ISI partners to ensure coordinated support for teachers.
DATA MANAGEMENT
  • Prepare data presentations to be utilized directly with schools to impact teaching and learning and progress monitoring.
  • Maintain a database of student performance and school descriptive data for the three ISI schools extracted from several district and state data sources.
  • Analyze data and develop and draft various written materials (e.g. reports and PowerPoint presentations) that include data summaries and representations.
  • Coordinate data collection with the work of an external evaluator for the Improving Schools Initiative.
  • Coordinate with coaches from the Achievement Network to support schools around utilization of ANet assessments to drive instructional improvement
  • Support EdVestors' strategic work through the collection and analysis of data as needed.
Qualifications:
  • Elementary teaching experience in an urban setting.
  • Experience as a teacher leader (Grade Level Chair, Instructional Coach, Academic Dean)
  • Experience facilitating groups of teachers (grade level meetings, professional development)
  • Expertise in teaching elementary literacy and mathematics
  • Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical abilities. Familiarity and experience with quantitative and qualitative research methods and analysis a plus.
  • Familiarity with multiple student assessment platforms (MClass, Galileo, ANet, etc.)
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently, as well as a contributing member of a collaborative team.
  • Ability to work effectively under deadline pressure.
  • Bachelor's degree minimum; master's degree preferred.
Position Details:
  • One year position.
  • Start date: July 1 or August 1.
  • Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience.
  • Three quarter time preferred. Other schedules will be considered.
