Legacy's mission is to create an outstanding center for teaching and learning for children and their families that will recognize and nurture the full potential of every child, provide a foundation for a college education, and educate our scholars to be creative and critical thinkers and responsible citizens in school, at home, and in the broader community.
Legacy is a high-performing public charter school holistically educating scholars in Pre-K through 8th grade in Chicago's North Lawndale neighborhood. We are seeking teachers, general or special education, to join our professional learning community. An Ideal Candidate:

• possesses in-depth understanding of subject matter and pedagogy;
• has experience developing rigorous, relevant curriculum, bringing an understanding of balanced literacy instruction and reform based curricula (including the Connected Math Program and hands-on science curricula);
• shows past success as an urban educator;
• uses student achievement data to plan instruction;
• seeks feedback and is willing to learn; has familiarity with professional teaching standards;
• is highly motivated, reflective, and creative – relentless in supporting all scholars;
• lives as an active citizen dedicated to social justice;

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
