Regional Sales Manager - Ohio
Sandvik Coromant, the world's #1 supplier of cutting tools and know- how for competitive machining, is currently seeking a Regional Sales Manager supporting the Ohio territory.
The Role
In this key role, the Regional Sales Manager is responsible for the coordination of sales and projects, as well as the management of Sandvik Coromant sales and service personnel in a specific region, in order to achieve corporate goals and objectives for market share and sales profitability.
Key Performance Areas
The essential functions of the job include, but are not limited to the following:
- Maintain contact with assigned authorized channel partners to promote and encourage the sales of Coromant products. Supervise and support distributor personnel in the region to achieve Coromant and channel partner mutual goals.
- Implement direct account and distributor account business plans and sales plans as designed.
- Conduct employee performance reviews on a timely basis as required, submitting all documents in a timely fashion.
- Calculate, audit and submit all required documents for commission, incentives, administration and sales (A&S) expenses and other documents as required in a timely manner.
- In conjunction with the Director of Sales develop, recruit and hire new and existing personnel for the region.
- Trains and continuously supports sales personnel in effective use of Sales Tools such as Customer Value Files, Productivity Improvement Programs, and Productivity Analyzer. Holds sales personnel accountable for reaching agreed upon targets in these areas.
- Evaluate authorized distributors and prospective distributors in the region and supply recommendations to the Director of Sales regarding the appointment of new distributors or the discontinuance of existing authorized distributors.
- Gather and compile operating data, inventory statistics and other information about assigned accounts which will aid in the measurement of their performance and in the recommending of action to be taken to best serve the interest of the customer and the Company.
- Keep informed on competitor's activities by gathering data and making observations. Recommend to Director of Sales any actions necessary to meet such activity.
- Keep abreast of customer needs regarding price, delivery and product offerings in order to best serve the customer and obtain the best business for the Company.
- Conduct sales calls alone or in conjunction with other Sandvik Coromant personnel.
- Advise and consult with Director of Sales on planning and execution of sales programs, policies, procedures, and problems related to Coromant sales in the account.
- Meet established goals for sales volume, profit, discount and administrative and Sales (A&S) expense.
- Act as coach, mentor to sales reports.
Your Profile
- BA/BS degree in a related field, with three to five years job related experience, or equivalent experience in a management position within a similar industry.
- Must read, write and speak English fluently.
- Must have knowledge of and practical experience with training and presentation of Customer Value Files (CVFs), Productivity Improvement Programs (PIPs), and possess appropriate coaching skills in order to develop sales personnel.
- Must have a minimum of three years experience with Sandvik Coromant products.
- Able to perform mathematical calculations applicable to product applications and sales statistics.
- May be required to undergo security clearance screening and obtain it for entry into some customer facilities.
- Must be legally eligible to work in the United States.
