The Role
Sandvik Mining requires a Sourcing Specialist to be based in our offices in Amsterdam, Svedala or Lyon. As The Region Sourcing Specialist for Europe you will execute the sourcing operations in your unit and responsibility area, including identifying local sourcing opportunities, translating stakeholders' requirements into sourcing opportunities and managing supplier relationships.
He/she will report directly to the Region Sourcing Manager in Sandvik Mining.
Key Performance Areas
The responsibilities of the candidate will include:
  • Ensuring the supply and quality of goods to the Customer Service Region.
  • Meeting the targets and deliverables set by the Region Sourcing Manager.
  • Managing unit stakeholder relationships and requirements and translate into sourcing opportunities.
  • Supporting implementation of and participate in region and/or category led sourcing initiatives.
  • Followingup the performance of defined suppliers and immediately react to deviations.
  • Supporting regular reporting of unit KPI's including monthly budget / forecast data.
  • Defining supplier relationships.
  • Participating in supplier negotiations, selection, contracts, management and compliance based on Sandvik Mining strategic sourcing process (BASED) and aligned with category management.
  • Driving Region Supplier Development and Risk Management process.
  • Ensuring compliance and adherence to Sandvik Mining sourcing policies and procedures.
  • Ensuring compliance with quality, safety and environmental standards.
  • Managing Customer Service Region stakeholder relationships and requirements and translate into sourcing opportunities and new (budgeting) actions.
Your profile
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills, with a fluent level of English.
  • Planning and execution skills.
  • Negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Project management and self-organizing skills.
  • Technical and/or commercial degree preferably in Business, Engineering, Materials Management or equivalent.
  • Experience in sourcing, supply chain management or relevant area.
  • Demonstrated experience working on sourcing projects.
  • A good knowledge in the area of Hydraulics would be an advantage.
