Communications Intern - United Nations Regional Information Centre


UNRIC Brussels is looking for an intern for the UK and Ireland Desk starting early August for a period of four months.
Applicants should be graduates, preferably in the area of communications, journalism, international relations, marketing or political science. Candidates must have excellent written and oral communication skills in English. 
UNRIC does not provide financial support for interns. All successful applicants are expected to make their own arrangements for travel to Brussels, lodging and living expenses during the four month internship period.
Core responsibilities
  • Working closely with the UK and Ireland desk officer, UNRIC staff and external UNRIC partners;
  • Monitoring the British and Irish media;
  • Managing social media pages, twitter and website for UK and Ireland desk initiatives;
  • Assisting with the organisation, film selection and other tasks involved in our flagship outreach initiative, Cine-ONU;
  • Writing articles in English for the website.
Skills and requirements:
  • University degree, preferably in the field of communications, journalism, political science, international relations or related. 
  • Excellent (near native) English, both written and oral. C1 level minimum. 
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel & PowerPoint) and social media skills;
  • Excellent organizational skills and time management.
