Project Manager (m/f)

Sudan, South Sudan, Horn of Africa & AU MSU

Main tasks:

• Support and monitor the overall functioning of the projects Sudan National Dialogue, South Sudan, Horn of Africa and African Union Mediation Support Unit (AU MSU)
• Support in communication with respective partners, local and external experts, local organisations, local political parties and international organisations
• Manage the implementation of activities
• Support in narrative and financial reporting and liaise with finance departments of Berghof Foundation and donors
• Conduct research and provide updates and support in the analysis of the situation in the regions
• Support in the development of new projects in the greater Horn of Africa region

Qualifications:

• Proven expertise and work experience in project management (3 years and more) in the field of political mediation, negotiation, dialogue, political transitions and governance
• Professional experience in the negotiation/mediation field on track 1-1.5 level is an asset
• Knowledge of and proven work experience in Sudan and South Sudan. Experience in the Horn Africa region is also desirable
• MA degree or equivalent in political science, peace and security studies or related fields
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Arabic and at least basic German skills required
