Peace Portal Editor Global Partnership for the Prevention of Armed Conflict

The Global Partnership for the Prevention of Armed Conflict is a non-governmental organisation that promotes effective conflict prevention and peacebuilding strategies, and actively supports and connects people working for peace worldwide. GPPAC is a network of civil society conflict prevention and peacebuilding organizations from around the world, who have worked together since 2003 towards building a new international consensus on the way in which we approach violent conflict. GPPAC calls for a fundamental change of approach towards conflict: a shift from reaction to prevention.

Managing information as a source of knowledge, inspiration, empowerment and action is at the centre of GPPAC’s work. A Portal has been developed as a platform for civil society to cooperate and harness the possibilities of the Internet for the prevention of violent conflicts. The Peace Portal is an initiative of GPPAC, supported by the Netherlands Ministry of Economic Affairs and the City of The Hague.
