Antitrust correspondent dealReporter
dealReporter Europe is seeking a regulatory correspondent to lead its antitrust coverage on the highest profile deals.
This role would suit a financial reporter someone who has a real feel for antitrust or Brussels. The right candidate will be able to grasp very difficult concepts quickly, have an excellent eye for detail and be a persistent reporter.
This role can be based in Brussels or London – preferably split between the two.
dealReporter is a part of the FT group and is a fast paced news service that focuses on breaking off diary news and providing technical analysis on M&A and event-driven special situations.
This role will involve:
- Writing detailed analysis on competition and regulatory hurdles to high profile large cap listed deals like Cadbury/Kraft, Johnson & Johnson/Synthes and the cross-border stock exchange mergers.
- Breaking news on antitrust issues in deals that could topple a merger
- Source building trips to Brussels and US
- Developing regulatory angles on other corporate events
