IBC Consultancy- Internship

IB Consultancy The Hague is looking for an intern to support senior and junior staff on a daily basis. The trainee will participate in one of our projects and will work on threat assessments and cooperate with our partners at other institutions. A tangible end result of the traineeship will be a joint publication on a topic related to the main project on which the trainee will work. Another possibility is for the trainee to work within our Business Consultancy and Sales team, focusing more on the business side of our company. The intern’s tasks will include:

  • Desk research and analysis, in particular on Security and Defence issues (including Terrorism and CBRNe) at European level;
  • Monitoring call for tenders / proposals from International Institutions;
  • Identifying relevant Partners across Europe to set up Consortia;
  • Contributing to writing proposals on FP7 Security Research;
  • Contribute to sales support materials for presentations and proposals;
  • Contributing to event organisation within the company;
  • Participating on behalf of IB Consultancy in meetings, workshops, seminars to be held in The Netherlands or abroad.

The Profile
The ideal candidate is strongly committed, hardworking and has a genuine interest in business development and the security and defence industry. He or she is passionate about writing business proposal and performing desk top research and has an eye for spotting new business opportunities. The ideal candidate is proactive, flexible and accurate, also while working under pressure and is willing to go ‘the extra mile’ if necessary. Working at IB Consultancy takes a highly developed team spirit, while having the ability to work independently and with little supervision.

Requirements

  • Graduating (or graduated) in a relevant field of study at a Masters/postgraduate level;
  • Proficiency in English language, and preferably able to speak another language;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • Excellent organisational skills and practical attitude;
  • Strong analytical skills, a curious mind and being creative at the same time (out of the box thinking);
  • Able to acquire and digest large quantities of information;
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office packages;
  • Have a basic knowledge on issues in security such as terrorism, international regimes etc.,
  • Have international experience or shown interest in international and intercultural issues,
  • No criminal record that could result in refusal of a security clearance (Restricted level).

You will be working within an international team of talented junior and highly skilled senior consultants. IB Consultancy has an informal and flat organisational structure. We will set goals and expect you to reach them. Do not expect us to take you by the hand and tell you what to do. If you ask for help, you will get it, but it is your responsibility to deliver what you promised to produce!

This internship provides a great opportunity to gain valuable work experience in an international environment and could be the start of a career in the exciting world of security consultancy, within a growing company where rapid progression is possible. We offer a full time internship for six months with a compensation of €300 per month.
